SUMMARY:Barrel Racing Accountability Series #3
DESCRIPTION:This will be a lesson series designed to aid students who are committed to progressing in their horsemanship and partnership with their horse\, whether they are just starting out or have years of riding experience. \nTo participate in this lesson series\, each rider must have their own horse or be in a long term lease of a horse. \nThe idea of this clinic series is to provide support and accountability for each participant.  On first day of the series\, each rider will share with the group what they would like to work on/accomplish with their horse\, this discussion determine will determine what  topics are covered in the series (examples: groundwork\, trail work\, equitation\, trailering\, exercises/drills\, competitions\, etc). Each horse and rider team will set goals and develop a clear\, individualized exercise plan for both horse and rider. Instructor will assist each team in meeting short term and long term goals. Instructor will evaluate tack/equipment\, type/fit and identify any needs/changes that may need to be made for success. Each lesson will consist of time on the ground and in the saddle. \nBetween lessons\, riders should utilize their plan as a tool to inform their routines including\, horse care\, warm up and cool down stretches for their horse\, conditioning and exercises for both (horse and rider)\, as well as making traveling/competition plans if applicable. \nEach rider will be given an accountability journal to track horse care/health\, progress towards goals\, lessons/clinics taken\, expenses\, competitions plans if applicable. Each rider will also receive a series shirt. \nAt each lesson session riders will be asked to share\, reflect and discuss progress with the team on their journey towards meeting their goals\, as well as any hurdles they may have encountered. We will then work through how to address these and continue along the path towards a successful journey/partnership with their horse. \nWe will have team support (through email/group text and or social media group) for those riders that would like to take part. They can share motivational posts/quotes/comments\, questions\, experiences\, videos of exercises/rides to share with their team mates for reflection/discussion. \nEach and every horse and rider team will have the opportunity to earn their very own Cedar Ridge Equine Horsemanship Lesson Series Participation Buckle should they meet the following requirements: \n\nEach horse/rider must participate in 4/5 of the lessons. SUMMARY:ABC’s of Cowboy Dressage
DESCRIPTION:This clinic will cover the ABC’s of Cowboy Dressage. We will discuss the court\, symmetry of the court\, types of courts\, divisions\,  tests\, show attire\, types of gaits and gait variation\, classes\, tests/score sheets. We will spend time on the ground learning the court as well as in the saddle on both the challenge and open court.  Lesson horses available upon request and with instructor approval. There is a small lesson horse use fee for those needing a lesson horse. All riders should be comfortable riding independently and at the walk and jog/trot. If you are hauling a horse in proof of current vaccinations and negative coggins test is required It is highly recommended to attend both clinic days. SUMMARY:Stable Hand Program
DESCRIPTION:Dates are available for each of the 3 day Beginner Horsemanship Lesson Series. You can sign up for a day or all three\, you do not have to participate in lesson series to participate in stable hand dates. \nThis program will be more in depth manner on the care of horses\, more than the horsemanship lesson series cover. There will be NO riding of horses. Stable hands will learn how to feed depending on the horses’ individual requirements\, organize and clean tack & equipment\, maintain and repair fencing and arenas\, remove manure\, and safe handling and proper use of ranch tools. Stable Hands will also have the opportunity to learn about the care of other farm animals. There will be a strong emphasis of life skill development including responsibility\, team work\, communication\, etc. Rubber boots and work gloves are recommended for participants. Participants will need to pack a lunch and snack. Participants are welcome to participate in any of the Stable Hand Program Dates without having to participate in a 3 day lesson program series. SUMMARY:Intermediate 3 Day Horsemanship Lesson Series
DESCRIPTION:In our intermediate half day horsemanship lesson series\, participants will spend time in the saddle\, on the ground in horsemanship and crafting and journaling. Our priority is to provide a safe\, fun and educational experience for all of our riders and horses. Participants must have instructor approval or currently be enrolled in CRE Intermediate Horsemanship Classes. Riders should be confident riding independently at a walk/trot and working on learning to lope/canter. This will be the only 3 day intermediate series offered this summer. This session is designed to help prepare riders for our summer intermediate weekly lessons and specialized intermediate clinics offered later this summer in a variety of disciplines. (Please visit clinic page for the speciality intermediate clinic dates/options) \nIf you are new to the area and the rider has previous horse experience please reach out to CRE to discuss previous equine experience and to schedule a private lesson assessment. \nAll participants receive a t-shirt with tuition. All sessions include a shirt\, journal and take home crafts. We have stickers\, extra shirts\, water bottles and hats available for an additional cost. Those participating in both sessions will need to make sure to pack a lunch and additional snacks/water for the afternoon. \n“Showdeo”: Event where participants can demonstrate what they worked on during the lesson series for parents. Morning Session Series Showdeo begins at 12:00 PM on 3rd day of lesson series. \nThe Stable Hand program is held after the lesson series. Participants will have time for lunch and then participate in afternoon chores around the barn: this may include pen cleaning\, graining/feeding of all of the CRE animals\, horse care\, games and crafts. SUMMARY:Youth Barrel Racing Clinic
DESCRIPTION:This clinic is for students that are confident in their riding ability: walk/trot/lope\, must be able to tack up horse on their own with minimal assistance and must have instructor approval to participate. If you are new to CRE please schedule a private lesson assistance to determine your eligibility to participate. Student’s must have their own horse/or leased horse available to them. A limited number of CRE lesson horses will be available (lesson horse use fee will apply). If you are hauling a horse in proof of current vaccinations and negative coggins test is required. During this clinic students will be introduced to the basic concepts of barrel racing: Barrel horse care and equipment\, warmups\, drills\, barrel pattern and competitions. The clinic will wrap up with a fun and friendly timed competition. All riders will have their competition run on video. Attending both days of clinic is highly recommended. SUMMARY:3 day Beginner Horsemanship Lesson Series
DESCRIPTION:In our beginner 3 half day summer lesson series\, students will spend daily time in the saddle\, on the ground horsemanship and crafting and journaling. Our priority is to provide a safe\, fun and educational experience for all of riders and horses. Riders with little to no prior horse experience are welcome to attend. All participants will need to pack a lunch/snacks daily. Participants will receive a t-shirt\, journal and take home crafts included in tuition. We do have stickers\, water bottles\, extra shirts\, and hats available for purchase for an additional cost. We are pleased to announce we are bringing back the afterooon Stable Hand Program option. Those participating in both sessions will need to make sure to pack a lunch and additional snacks/water for the afternoon. \n“Showdeo”: Event where participants can demonstrate what they worked on during the lesson series for parents. Morning Session Series Showdeo begins at 12:00 PM on 3rd day of lesson series. Stable Hands will be available after each morning of lesson series. \nThe Stable Hand program is held after the lesson series. Participants will have time for lunch and then participate in afternoon chores around the barn: this may include pen cleaning\, graining/feeding of all of the CRE animals\, horse care\, games and crafts. Each horse and rider team will set goals and develop a clear\, individualized exercise plan for both horse and rider. Instructor will assist each team in meeting short term and long term goals. Instructor will evaluate tack/equipment\, type/fit and identify any needs/changes that may need to be made for success. Each lesson will consist of time on the ground and in the saddle. \nBetween lessons\, riders should utilize their plan as a tool to inform their routines including\, horse care\, warm up and cool down stretches for their horse\, conditioning and exercises for both (horse and rider)\, as well as making traveling/competition plans if applicable. \nEach rider will be given an accountability journal to track horse care/health\, progress towards goals\, lessons/clinics taken\, expenses\, competitions plans if applicable. Each rider will also receive a series shirt. \nAt each lesson session riders will be asked to share\, reflect and discuss progress with the team on their journey towards meeting their goals\, as well as any hurdles they may have encountered. We will then work through how to address these and continue along the path towards a successful journey/partnership with their horse. \nWe will have team support (through email/group text and or social media group) for those riders that would like to take part. DESCRIPTION:CRE Summer Barrel Series:\nTo participate CRE races rider must be actively taking lessons in any of our weekly group classes offered at CRE. This series is designated for boarders/leasers/students with their own horses who are active in our lesson program\, however there will be a limited number of CRE lessons horses available for a limited number of students (must have instructor approval). Any horses attending from offsite must provide proof of current negative coggins test and proof of current vaccine record.\nWe must have a minimum of five entries to run each CRE on site race. 4D Divisional cash payouts for each weekly race (5D with enough entries) Races will be held weather permitting basis and a rescheduled date will be added if race is cancelled. \nCategories: Pee Wee (8 & under)\, Youth (17 & under) and Open (all ages)\nTime only’s available\, 1 included in each entry fee\, $5 for each after that. \nHigh Point:\nWe will have a summer high point series for those of you that are interested in winning a buckle and other awesome prizes.
