Hi! My name is Hannah, and I came across Cedar Ridge Equine in June 2025 and saw they offered an adult beginner program, so I signed up and began my journey with horses! Riding and bonding with horses had always been a dream of mine since I was a little girl, but life didn’t present the opportunity until I was 30. From the beginning, Amy and Jessica made everything feel welcoming and encouraging, and it quickly felt like the right place for me to learn.

After taking lessons, Jessica introduced me to Daisy, and our connection was immediate. What started as simply getting to know each other quickly grew into a bond that continues to deepen every day. Daisy is truly my heart horse, and I honestly can’t imagine life without her now. Some of my favorite moments with her are the quiet ones, like sitting with her while she naps, hanging out by the round bale, or going on little walks together and exploring.

Daisy and I started working on the barrel pattern together somewhat spontaneously one day, and the first time we loped it I felt the rush immediately! Barrel racing was always my favorite event to watch at rodeos, but I never expected to be the one doing it. Seeing Daisy light up on the pattern and watching that spark come back to her made that moment unforgettable.

Daisy is incredibly expressive and communicative, and she has taught me that the best progress comes from patience, trust, consistency, and really listening to your horse.

One of the things I appreciate most about Cedar Ridge Equine is the environment Amy, Jessica, and Justin have created. Their encouragement, knowledge, and calm approach make it easy to keep learning and improving, and it truly feels like a family.

My biggest goal is simply to keep growing with Daisy. Whether that is continuing to progress in barrels, learning new things together, or working through the arena ghosts in the corner, what matters most to me is the connection we share and continuing to make each other better every day.

I’m incredibly grateful for Amy, Jessica, Justin, and the Cedar Ridge community for how welcomed, supported and encouraged I’ve felt throughout this journey, and for the consistent kindness they’ve shown along the way!
