Beginner and Intermediate Summer Series

Cedar Ridge Equine offers several dates for horsemanship clinics for youth of all ages available for beginner to advanced riders. In all of our clinics, we believe it is important to teach life skill development and personal growth as an intricate component of our horsemanship program. After conducting several educational studies on life skill development through the use of horses, we found it most effective to teach about responsibility, relationships, communication, leadership, and team work through horse safety and care; haltering, tying and leading a horse; horse behavior observation and horse anatomy; and on-the-ground horsemanship. Participants will spend time in the saddle, working on the ground with the horses and will participate in daily take home equine crafts and journaling activities. We strive to provide a safe, fun and educational environment for all riders and horses. If you do not own a horse, not a problem, we provide safe, sane, reliable lesson horses.

We offer a tuition sponsorship each year for one Montana Youth Participant.

CRE also offers CRE offers Working Internships.

Stable Hand Program

This program will be more in-depth on the care of horses, more than the horsemanship lesson series cover. There will be NO riding of horses. Stable hands will learn how to feed depending on the horses’ individual requirements, organize and clean tack & equipment, maintain and repair fencing and arenas, remove manure, and safe handling and proper use of ranch tools. Stable Hands will also have the opportunity to learn about the care of other farm animals. There will be a strong emphasis of life skill development including responsibility, team work, communication, etc. Rubber boots and work gloves are recommended for participants. Participants will need to pack water and a snack/lunch.
