CRE Working Internships

Each year CRE offers a limited number of non-paid student working internships to assist in our summer horsemanship programming (beginner, intermediate horsemanship clinics, lessons, colt starting, facility management  and stable hand programs). Horsemanship Internships are available to CRE students that have participated in a minimum of 3 years of riding lessons with CRE or approved by instructor, attended at least 2 weeklong camps with CRE or approved by instructor, must be actively participating in our riding lesson program (minimum of 4 lessons taken each month), also must be able to properly to catch, lead and tie up horses, groom and tack up/untack horses without assistance, must be knowledgeable in horse safety, horsemanship skills, have a good work ethic and attitude, be a good role model, be assertive in accomplishing given tasks, be timely and responsible. A limited number of more discipline specific internships also available for qualified university students seeking equine internship opportunities areas consisting of instruction, colt starting, facility management and breeding.

NOTE: We do not offer any work trade/for riding time.

This year we have three position titles for interns to apply for:

  • Junior Wrangler (first and second year interns to help from 8:30am-5:15pm daily) 1/2 day internships can also be organized
  • Senior Wrangler (third year and up interns to help from 8:30am-5:15pm daily) 1/2 day internships can also be organized
  • University Intern (schedule to be scheduled with CRE)

All prospective interns must fill out the form below, explaining how they meet these qualifications: (age, background, horse experience, number of years of lessons taken at CRE, number of CRE camps attended, characteristics they feel they possess, how they will demonstrate being a good role model, etc.)

If approved as an intern, CRE will get in touch with you to confirm the dates of internship that you will be working. All interns must participate in the Training Day set below. All interns receive a CRE t-shirt and will be able to participate in CRE Helper’s Fun Days. Interns that commit and work 3 clinic sessions will also receive a CRE Sweatshirt and be eligble to win the “Top” Wrangler awards

Dates: June 11th- 4:30-6pm
Pizza dinner provided
(Mandatory to attend to help as a Summer Wrangler)

CRE Helper Wrangler Appreciation Fun Day!

Dates: Thursday August 27th 3-6:30 pm
BBQ dinner provided
This day is dedicated to all of our summer clinic helpers/wranglers. We will have games, horse back events and prizes!
